Local red wine, from the beautiful vineyards of the Dodoma plateau, in the very heart of Tanzania.
Tasting Notes: On the nose, it gives candy aromas of grenadine, maraschino cherries, jackfruit and vanilla. The palate is on the sweet side and shows cherishing creamy fruit, slightly rough tannins, and relatively high acidity. The aftertaste of vanilla and berry syrup is intense and lingering.
Recommended food pairings: Swahili-style chicken in coconut curry, chicken scaloppine, and Indian curries.
Betting on the vine and winning a challenge.
Cetawico is a company in the fullest sense of the word: economic activity and social commitment. It produces organic wine at 1100 m. above sea level, on a plateau located in Tanzania about 700 kilometres south of the equator. The company was born almost by chance, when Fiorenzo Chesini, an engineer and entrepreneur, accepted the challenge of digging a well for drinking water near Hombolo, on behalf of the Fondazione San Zeno of Verona, a humanitarian association active in countries on 4 different continents.

Organic farming and great potential
.... The Teroldego and Marzemino vines planted by the missionary from Trentino have been joined by Aglianico, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, originally from the Loire. The current capacity of the winery is about 2000 hl per year, but within 3 years it is expected to reach 6000 hl.
