Guido Marsella was one of the pioneers of the rediscovery and valorization of Fiano di Avellino and the territory of Summonte, today considered as a cru that manages to impress on the wines a recognizable expressive stamp. After an experience as a building contractor for the family business, Guido, in love with the countryside, bought land in the Summonte area, in Iripinia, and founded the winery in 1995...
...The ancient grape variety in the vineyards owes its origins to the Greeks, who imported the ""Vitis Apicia"" variety into the Campania region and it seems that the first vines were planted in the Lapio area. The name Apicia derives from the typical scent and sweetness of the fruit that attracts swarms of bees to the vineyards, later it was changed to Apinia then Afia but to later arrived at the definitive Fiano.
The company specifies that for the Fiano di Avellino DOCG it uses only the grapes from its own vineyards, located in Summonte, Campo di Maio, obtaining a 100% pure wine.
