Pinotage is the “signature wine” of South Africa, born there of a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault.
Tasting Notes: Compared to Pinot Noir it’s less classy, compared to both its parents is darker and more structured. Here the typical texture and aromas of the grape are innervated, almost forged by a vigorous presence of the oak. As a consequence, this wine is drier and tighter-structured than the average Pinotage and promises a long ageing potential.
Recommended food pairings: All barbecue meats. Smoked meats and cold cuts. Chinese “Loo Shui”.
